Team May 2012

Welcoming Team May to Haiti today!  This team made up of mostly women...a few a bit crazy in a fun kind of way.  This group of women will take over the downstairs bedroom wing while the 3 brave men on the team quiety reside upstairs away from it all.
While this team will no doubt bring a lot of laughs, they will be hard at work all week. 
Sunday our Good Samaritan kids will be basket weaving...surely the teen girls will be all over this, the boys???  I'm thinking video taping is in order.
Monday - Thursday will be spent in Canaan running medical clinic and beginning to build house #3.  This team has done an amazing raising funds to build this home by "rooster flocking" people in their communities.  (please see photo below)
We know the people of Canaan will be blessed by the minstry done through this team.  We trust that the team will also be blessed by the haitians they serve and by what God is doing in this community.

We ask for your prayers for safety, good health, and for this team to be open to what God has planned dispite our plans and that we would all truly see people and circumstances not through our human eyes, but through Christ's eyes.

Building a kindergarten!!!

  AWAKENHAITI has a team coming from Canada at the end of next week planning to build a home.  But...sometimes, God changes our focus for a period time of time...so our focus for the week will be slightly different than we originally planned...Not our plans Lord, but yours.This team will be building a Kindergarten building!  The plan was to build a home now and do the school in November when they return.  This building is so needed and will allow for such a better teaching enviornment as well as allow more room for future additions to class sizes, thus, more children educated!!!
Lemonson who is the husband/father of the family soon moving into the first home built has come on board the haitian construction crew!  He and his family will oversee the church/school property as well.  Today, he was leading the digging crew for the kindergarten!

I know this team will be blessed to be part of this awesome project as well as other work on the previous buildings and even better, it means more work for men who really just want to work and provide for their families!
