As 2018 begins we'd like to bring you into a few details for the year!
*The end of 2016 and into 2017, AWAKENHAITI went through another period of change without having a director living in Haiti running the Transition Program. AWAKENHAITI desires to have an in-country director to take on more than overseeing the scholarship aspect of the Transition Program. Most of the students leave the homes when they enter the Transition Program. We have continued to see the importance of a resource center for the students where they can study, access internet & computers, build community and grow in their faith. We hope that you will join us in praying fervently for an in-country Transition Program Director for this important aspect of the ministry!
*AWAKENHAITI is planning a trip to Haiti July 21-28, 2018. The full itinerary will be established based on the make up of the team and needs within the ministry, however, there will be a few days dedicated to Good Samaritan day trips. If you would like more information, please email debd@awakenhaiti.org or call Deb 717-636-8553. We would love for you to join us!
*Each year before Christmas, we invite our child sponsors to give above their regular support of the homes in order to provide Christmas gifts for the kids and to contribute toward a Christmas party for all of the students. This year, sponsors gave so generously, we were able to purchase 4 much needed new laptops for the homes and send funds to provide for a small gift for each child for their Christmas party! Way to Go!!!! The computers will be arriving in Haiti in February!
