Team April Day 5

Day 5 was a great day again in Canaan.  The professional building has a good portion of the tin on the roof. It is going to be an awesome building for this community.
The medical clinic was full of people all day keeping most of the team very busy!  This community has been very blessed by the team's willingness to come and serve!
Our afternoon was complete with a visit to Suzette.  She has lost a bunch of weight after having a severe flu with some symptoms continuing for a month.  She is getting physically weaker but her spirit is stronger than ever.  Her faith is stronger than ever.  She only takes tylenol sometimes, most of the time when the pain is great, she prays.
We spent some time visiting and time praying with and for her.  Prayers continue for her healing!
The following are links to the Denlinger family blog with some of Suzette's story.

Team April Day 4

Today was another hot day in Canaan.  The guys working on the building are getting quite a tan working on the roof of the building!  Please check out the progression of the building on AWAKENHAITI's facebook page.

The medical clinic was busy again today.  Close to 70 patients were seen.  So many with dry eyes from the dust and dry air right now.  We're thankful we had so many lubricating eye drops to give.  We also have many patients with acid problems, headaches...imagine what it would be like to not be able to go right to your cabinet for tylenol which is the case for all of the patients seen over the last few days, also, many children with colds and infections.  Again, we are so thankful for the medicine we can offer to help these families!

Team April is doing a phenomenal job caring for the community of Canaan!

Team April Days 2 & 3

Sunday Team April had a day of experiencing a little more of what the city of Port-au-Prince is like after taking a tour of the city and enjoying church.  The afternoon was a bit restful and we spent some time at our girls home.  The team was able to hand out sponsor letters and a set of bed sheets for each of the children.  Thank you for the donation of sheets!

Monday we were back in Canaan.  The professional building has all the rafters on now and looks awesome!  The small group working in the sun have done an awesome job!
The medical clinic was extremely busy seeing just over 80 patients.
What a long but great day!
Everyone is doing awesome!

Team April Day 1

Saturday, Team April jumped right into things in Canaan.  The professional building is looking "just a little" bigger with the roof going on.  A small group were brave enough to join Jeff and Colton on top of the building!
The rest of the team ran the medical clinic treating 60 patients, giving answers, educating, and loving people! When Jeff arrived early to open up the clinic building, a mom was already waiting at the door with her very sick little boy who had eaten a bottle of vitamins, had the beginning stage of pneumonia, and a fever.  This is a mom who has entrusted us with her children multiple times over the course of the last year especially after the same son's recent staff infection.  This is just one example of many of God bringing the right medical personnel here at just the right time.
Today the team is off to church, then on to a tour of Port-au-Prince, then to the souvenir market to try their hand at bartering.  Later we will take sponsor letters to the kids at Good Samaritan and spend some time with the kids!
Tomorrow, we'll be back in Canaan for more clinic and construction.  Excited to see what God will send our way and how He will be working in and through us!

Team April

Team April has arrived in Haiti!  We are very excited about the week ahead.  This team is made up of several medical personnel, a contractor, and many willing hands!  We will be running medical clinic for 4 days, dental clinic, and construction on the professional building!  We will be open to God working in and through us as we serve the Bethanie Community of Canaan.  We pray that God will give us His eyes to see people and things they way He would and that we have open hearts to learn what He has for us this week!
Please pray for safety, good health and for God to do His work in and through us!

We will be praying for the family members that stayed behind in Canada!
