Team March Day 6

Thank you team March for all of your hard work this week!  Today was a well deserved rest day.
Some hiked up to the waterfall while others enjoyed a quiet morning at the guest house.

The team then was off to the Haitian Creations for shopping.  The afternoon was spent at the pool and finally dinner.  Good food!

Thank you so much for your efforts this week, for the makeover paint job at the Good Samaritan girls home, it looks amazing!

Team March day 5

Today, Jeff led Team March in painting the outside of the girls home to make the "home makeover" complete.  This team has some great painters who didn't tire of the job all week making this home even more beautiful than before!  What a group of hard workers.
There was of course some fun with the kids through the day as their day was shortened due to exam week.

Deb and Andrea (team leader) took the afternoon to deliver antibiotics in Canaan.  Suzette's grandbaby, Naika has an abcess on her face.  Prayers for her appreciated!

Team March day 4

Team March had a great day in Canaan!  The trip there alone is a learning experience:  seeing markets, traffic, and people just living there busy day.

Some of the team worked on the professional building while some painted inside the medical center.  There were children to play with when school finished so some of the ladies spent time holding little ones, getting hair braided, and playing with a group of little girls who love to sing and play.

Some of the ladies joined Deb on three home visits.  What a blessing to have a group of ladies to encourage, support and pray with these three women.  Two of the visits were difficult as there is a child in each home needing medical attention.  Deb will do some follow up after getting some medical advice.

Today (Thursday) the team will be going back to the girls home to paint the exterior.  They have been so blessed to work there and spend time with the girls as they return from school.  The girls love the fresh paint, what a beautiful job!

Team March Day 3

Wow, these are some hard workers!  This team has completely repainted the inside of the girls home while Jeff made over a room for Jocee and Sul (the girls home staff).  They have done a beautiful job!
Today was filled with painting and more painting, then some fun with the girls.

Tomorrow will be a different story.  We will be taking the team to Canaan (to do more painting), but the surroundings will be much more difficult.  Please pray that this team is able to really SEE the people and just love while taking in the hard reality of the life for the people of Canaan.  There will be many blessings if they are able to see beyond the physical circumstances!  God is moving!!

Team March Day 2

Team March had a great day at the Good Samaritan Girls home today.  They painted the girls' bedrooms with some really fun colors, helped paint and redo a special room for our Girls Home staff to have a space of their own, and had lots of fun with the girls making cool hair ties after they returned from school.

Tomorrow, the rest of the interior of the house will be painted and the staff room will be finished. Final pics coming!

This team has had a ton of questions and we've had some amazing conversations, they are eager to learn more about the Haitian culture!

Team March Day 1

Team March had a great day today once we got our time change figured out.  We started off with an awesome worship service.  The father of the pastor at our church passed away last night so it was a difficult morning for him.  Our former pastor invited all who have lost a parent to come forward and pray with/for him.  It was a beautiful and emotional time of prayer!

The team then ventured on to tour the Port-au-Prince area.  This is always an eye opening time of seeing and experiencing different aspects of economic levels and the day to day life for many people in Haiti.  They also got to try their hand at bartering at the souvenir market.

After lunch, the team visited the Good Samaritan Girls home for an afternoon of fun crafts and games and even a little Zumba!

We are looking forward to a great day of painting the girls' bedrooms and more time with them as they return from school!

Team March
