March Birthdays

Martine Duperval – March 11, 1993 – turns 20 this month. Martine is, by far, one of the leaders of the Girls Home. She is energetic, enthusiastic, and it seems, always involved in all aspects of the Girls Home. There seems to be nothing Martine does not do and enjoy doing. Her favorites are cooking and dancing and singing! With Martine’s excellent English skills, outgoing and social personality, you will often find her MC’ing and hosting the holiday, birthday, and team events we have each month.

Roodley Elie – March 12, 1996 – will be turning 17 this month. Roodley is a very quiet, introverted young man. Although he is very quiet, he interacts with the girls at the Girls Home very well! The brotherly bond he seems to have with some of the girls is very evident and strong. They get so excited to see and spend time with him. Roodley is also a very talented artist. He takes great care and time with his drawings and artwork.

Thank you Team February !!

Sorry to have missed so many days for those family members who were looking for information about what your loved ones were doing here.  Our internet has been causing major problems, we hope to get something fixed up soon.  Hopefully you were able to enjoy the pictures on the AWAKENHAITI facebook page.
We have been so humbled and blessed by the ministry Team February were part of! To mention a few that stand out:
Two children who are mal-nourished were given worm medication and some instruction on helping the children gain weight.  Deb will be doing regular follow ups in March, April, and May to see if the worms were the problem and to see that they are gaining weight or if there is something else we need to consider.
Two women were given positive pregnancy results that brought a very heavy burden to their already dire circumstances.  Education, encouragement, and prayers were offered.  Praying the words spoken and prayers lifted as well as God's strength give wisdom for good decisions for these two women.

Junior put his dental training to work as we had many patients coming in with tooth pain and problems. This community has great need for dental education and care!

The future professional/community building went from foundation to walls in just three days.

The team loved working alongside the Haitian staff on both the medical clinic and construction!   Many were blessed!

Thank you Team February for the work put into raising funds to make these three days huge as well as support for the ongoing ministry in Canaan.  Thank you for the time taken away from work and families and for all the love you gave while you were here!

We pray that God continues to reveal to you the blessings you received while you were in Haiti!

Please check out the AWAKENHAITI facebook page for pics as the internet still will not allow for picture upload here.
